Government Affairs and Public Policy
The Office of Government Affairs coordinates the legislative and public policy advocacy of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens. Our faith in Jesus Christ demands that we strive to shape the moral life of our nation. The dignity of the human person is grounded in our belief that out of love for His creation God became a man. The example of our Divine Master teaches us to love our neighbors as he has loved us.
As Catholics we believe that all are created in God’s image and likeness. As Americans we are dedicated to the proposition that all men are endowed by the Creator with certain inalienable rights. As Catholics and Americans we embrace our religious and civic obligations to be advocates for the Dignity and Sanctity of all human life. We are proud to be the voice for the most vulnerable.
The office works in collaboration with the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops, the New York State Catholic Conference and the New York City Catholic Community Relations Council. To join our legislative network , click here http://www.nyscatholic.org/pages/home/home.asp.
